DC Kupwara chairs DDM Committee meeting

6 cases settled for Rs.5 lakh under SDRF

KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 08: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today chaired a meeting of District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) to settle the relief cases under State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF).

The meeting held threadbare discussion upon all 10 cases relating to properties damaged in fire, snow and landslide erosion.

Out of 10 cases, six were settled for a compensation of Rs.5,07,800 and rest of the four cases were put before District Disaster Management Committee for minor observations.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers for clarification of pending cases within a week’s time so that these can be also settled in next meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the meeting will be held in each month to ensure timely settlement of relief cases. He impressed upon the concerned officers to strictly adhere the Government SOPs while recommending the relief cases to the District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC).

He also directed them to ensure proper reporting of the cases before the DDMC within 15 days positively for their timely settlement. The Deputy Commissioner further directed the concerned for submission of photographs of damaged spots.

Chairman SDRF Verification (ADDC) Kupwara, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat; ADC, Nazir Ahmad Lone, concerned Tehsildars, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Agriculture Officer Kupwara and other concerned were present in the meeting.
