KUPWARA, JUNE 16: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today evening directed concerned officers to assess the losses occurred to orchards, paddy fields and irrigation khuls in some villages of Handwara sub division due to hailstorm and cloudburst this evening.
As per reports, hailstorm and cloud breat occurred in various villages of Handwara subdivision including village Haril, Budbogh, Ashpora, Harwait and Kunail due to which losses occurred to orchards, paddy fields and Irrigation khuls.
The DC directed concerned officers of Horticulture, Agriculture, Irrigation & Flood Control and Revenue departments to visit all effected villages and make on-spot assessment of losses and report. He also asked ADC Handwara to coordinate and monitor the assessment teams personally.
