DC Bandipora for strict lockdown in Containment Zones

Calls for tough action against violators of COVID SOPs, advisories

BANDIPORA, JULY 22: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmed today called for imposing strict restrictions in containment zones and acting tough against the violators of COVID SOPs.

He said this during a meeting convened to review the implementation of restrictions in Red Zones. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, SDM Sumbal Dr Bashir Lone, Nodal Officers of all Red Zones, Duty Magistrates, Officers from Health Department, Revenue officials, Tehsildars and other senior officers of the district.

Dr Owais directed to close the markets in all the Red ones of the district and impressed on the law enforcing agencies to implement the lockdown in these areas in letter and spirit and ensure that all SOPs, guidelines and advisoiries are followed by the people in the district.

He impressed upon the officers to act against the violators of SOPs and impose heavy fines against them including on the people who are not wearing masks and not following social distancing. He said by doing so the people not only risk their own life but put lot of people in vicinity in trouible.

DC Bandipora Dr Owais said the use of masks have been made mandatory in the district and asked the officers to implement the order strictly on ground and impose fine on the people who refuse to wear masks.

Dr Owais directed the concerned officers to follow the directions of government and spread awareness regarding maintaining social distancing and other precautionary measures. He also urged the shopkeepers to cooperate with the district administration to ensure the spread of virus is prevented. He said the use of masks has become very important in the current scenario besides maintain other health hygiene and social distancing.

Earlier the the Nodal Officers informed the chair about the issues faced by them in their respective areas that hinder the effective implementation of lockdown. Deputy Commissioner heard their issues patiently and assured resolution of the issues.
