Kupwara, April 16: In compliance with Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg IAS, Karnah Administration led by Sub Divisional Magistrate(SDM) Karnah, Dr. Bilal Mohiddin Bhat IAS, along with Tehsildar and Incharge Essential Commodities started home based financial services in 3 Red Zone villages including Baghbella, Dildar and Gomal. The financial services provided include Mobile ATM vans and Mobile Banks for non-ATM based withdrawals. These arrangements were undertaken using local solutions innovatively in coordination with J&K Bank and Khidmat Centres.
In order to ensure complete and effective lockdown, people in Red Zones are not allowed to go out. However provisions of services like essential commodities and financial services are made available to the people at their doorsteps. The move has been hailed by the people as critical and important move to ensure the comfort in the extended lockdown period by the government.
It was informed that cash to the tune of Rs.2 lakh has been disbursed through Mobile ATMs and home based withdrawals . These services will continue in all Red Zones during the lockdown.
