On the occasion of World Heart Day on 29 Sep 2020, Vilgam Battalion under the ageis of 8 Sect organized an Awareness cum Lecture on various aspects of heart related health issues for the local population of Vilgam and nearby villages.
Some of the major aspects covered in the lecture are as below:
- Awareness regarding common Heart related health conditions like Hypertension, complications of Diabtes and Heart attack were discussed with the general public.
- Measures to prevent Heart related Diseases were discussed at length and people were advised to follow a healthy lifestyle.
- Awareness regarding Healthy diet practices and importance of physical exercise was stressed upon.
- Monitoring of BP of all present was done to detect cases of Hypertension among the participants. Individuals who were detected to have raised BP were advised on the medications and precautionary measures to be taken and were advised to visit doctor on regular basis.
- Demonstration of CPR and basic life support was shown to the general public to make them aware of the necessary first aid and immediate actions to be taken in case of any emergency.
The event served to impart important knowledge on heart issues on the occasion of World Heart Day. It also served to strengthen the bond between Jawan and Awaam. The event was well received by all those present and was appreciated for the concern of well being of those around us.
