Kupwara : Four years after construction began, the bridge near Geerhati that is intended to connect Galizoo Stadium and the nearby Children Park remains unfinished. This incomplete infrastructure is causing significant inconvenience for cricketers and fans alike, as they are forced to take a detour through the narrow link road of Galizoo, which can only accommodate one vehicle at a time.
The current situation has prompted repeated appeals from both cricketers and cricket enthusiasts to the Kupwara administration, urging the immediate completion of the bridge. The lack of a proper access route not only hinders the smooth movement of people and vehicles but also raises safety concerns, especially on busy match days.
The Kupwara Stadium, a key venue for local sporting events, attracts numerous spectators and players. The incomplete bridge project, which was envisioned to provide a seamless and hassle-free connection, has instead become a bottleneck, affecting the overall sporting experience in the region.
Local authorities have yet to provide a concrete timeline for the completion of the bridge. Meanwhile, the sports community in Kupwara continues to hope for a swift resolution to ensure better infrastructure and accessibility for all.
