Kupwara, 01 May: As directed by Director Health services Kashmir, Dr Samir Matto that no kid even in remotest areas must be deprived of routine immunization to prevent re-emergence of childhood diseases, immunization is going on in remotest areas of Kashmir Division amidst Lockdown and COVID-19 Crisis.
To implement the same on Ground, today a female FMPHW Nurse, namely Posha Begum can be seen travelling on foot to reach remotest village, Jumagund about 13Kms from Patkhan Top which is itself 25 KMs from District Headquarters. About 50 children will be given routine immunization consisting of DPT, OPV, MR vaccines apart from Vitamin-A supplement. BMO Trehgam, Dr Nisar Wani is coordinating the efforts with active support from Dr AG Dar, DHO Kupwara.
State immunization officer, Dr Qazi Haroon applauded the efforts which are being put by Health Care Workers across the region and he said such images turn to be motivational force for others.
