Handwara, March 27: In a bid to boost agricultural practices in sub-district Handwara, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather spearheaded the distribution of essential farm machinery to local farmers. The distribution took place at the office of the Chief Horticulture Officer in Handwara.
The farming tools, which included tractors among other equipment, were handed over to farmers hailing from various areas within the district. ADC highlighted the significance of these machinery upgrades, highlighting how they would contribute to enhancing cultivation practices.
Addressing the farmers during the distribution, ADC underscored the pivotal role of modern machinery in agricultural endeavors. He urged horticulture officials to extend unwavering support to farmers, ensuring that they receive every possible assistance in their agricultural pursuits.
The machinery distribution event witnessed the participation of officials from Gul Bahar Fruit Cooperative Ltd Turkpora. This distribution falls under the purview of the “Development of Rainfed Area (HADP)” scheme, aimed at bolstering agricultural activities in the region.
Moreover, the ADC underscored the multifaceted benefits of such initiatives. He stressed how the provision of modern machinery not only aids in improving agricultural productivity but also serves as a catalyst for employment generation within the farming community.
During the distribution program, Chief Horticulture Officer Handwara, Muneer Ahmad and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
