The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor across the Forest Division, with events held at both the Division and Range headquarters.
At the Division Office, the celebrations were led by Mr. Owais Farooq Mir, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), who unfurled the National Flag and addressed the gathering. In his speech, he reflected on the significance of the day, paid homage to the nation’s freedom fighters, and underscored the Forest Department’s vital role in environmental conservation, sustainable development, and raising public awareness.
As part of the occasion, a Cleanliness Drive was conducted under the Swachhta Pakhwada initiative, focusing on hygiene promotion, environmental responsibility, and encouraging active community participation.
At the Range level, the respective Range Forest Officers hoisted the National Flag, followed by patriotic songs and cleanliness campaigns. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from staff members and local communities, which added vibrancy and inclusiveness to the celebrations.
