Kralpora,December 23: Food Craft Institute, Jammu (under department of Skill development, UT of J&K) which is affiliated to National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Noida had established it’s branch at Karalpura on 15 Jan 2021. Since it’s inception 11 courses (to include Food & Beverages, Front Desk and House keeping & Stewardship) have been successfully completed and two other including Bakery courses are still continuing.
Following the successful completion of these courses at Food Craft Institute, Karalpura, the students are certified by the Tourism ministry of India to help them establish there credibility in future career prospects. Till now total 330 students (that includes 90 girls) have completed training at the institute, out of which 52 boys and 10 girls have also been placed. About 200 students are either undergoing on job training or are in the final stages of it.
After completion of recent three courses at Food Craft Institute, Karalpura, a certification ceremony was organised for the graduated students at the centre.
The event was attended by civilians and Sarpanch and Ward members of the nearby villages while Cdr, 68 Mtn Bde was the chief guest at the event.
Almost 75 students witnessed the event where about 50 students were certified for their courses from Tourism ministry of India. The students also shared their experiences and how these courses are helping them genrate livelihood and further boosting their confidence.
Indian Army in its drive to help locals to strive for a better future had constructed the boundary wall, security fence and main gate of the Food Craft Institute, Sonchipura, which was also inaugrated today by Cdr, 68 Mtn Bde.
A gas Oven and six keroheaters were also gifted to the institute to help in it’s daily functioning during the ongoing sever winters.
The event was followed by display of dishes prepared by the students and discussions on how to improve the operationality of the institute and make the courses more comprehensive. Suggestions for establishing branches of the institute were also received.
Further tree plantation was carried out at Food Craft Institute, Sonchipura and Panzgam where in about 50 trees were planted by students and forest department rangers.
