Kupwara, August 6: Former MLA, Safina Beigh, Former Rajya Sabha MPs, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, Nazir Laway, former Deputy Mayor Srinagar, Sheikh Imran are likely to join the Peoples Conference tomorrow at an event being organised at Peoples conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone’s residence in Srinagar.
Safina Beigh who is also Chairperson District Development Council Baramula is the wife of former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, who was the founder member of Peoples Conference.
Mir Mohammad Fayaz who hails from Kupwara was Formerly associated with Peoples Democratic Party has resigned from the party after differences on various issues.
Mir Mohammad Fayaz was nominated for Rajya Sabha and was very vocal on various kashmir related issues especially that of abrogation of article 370. He may be possibly new candidate for Peoples conference from Kupwara constituency which he lost with mere 150 votes as PDP candidate in 2014 assembly elections.
Nazir Laway, a former Rajya Member was also formerly associated with PDP. He was expelled from the party in 2019 after he attended the meeting called by the then LG of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, GC Murmu for indulging in “Anti party Activities”.
Sheikh Mohammad Imran was the former Deputy Mayor of Srinagar, who is believed to have close relations with Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone. Sheikh Imran have recently lashed out at the current Mayor office and MC officers for indulging in corruption and lobbyism within the Municipal Corporation office Srinagar.
This development as political experts believe will help the Peoples Conference to grow more.
