Kupwara: Tourists visiting the renowned Satbaran Kalaroose caves in Kupwara are facing significant challenges due to the absence of washroom facilities. Despite the recent establishment of an eco-friendly park by the Kamraj Forest Division Kupwara of the J&K Forest Department, the lack of basic amenities is causing acute problems for visitors from across India.
Local residents and tourists have expressed their frustration, questioning the role of the Tourism Department in addressing these issues. “It’s disheartening to see such a famous tourist spot lacking essential facilities. The authorities need to take immediate action,” said Mohd Nawab, a tourist from Delhi.
The link road leading to the Satbaran Eco-Park and caves also remains narrow and underdeveloped, forcing tourists to park their vehicles nearly half a kilometer away from the main entrance. This adds to the inconvenience and detracts from the overall visitor experience.
Local resident Adil Ahmad shared his concerns: “The beauty of Satbaran is unparalleled, but the lack of infrastructure is a major drawback. The administration must prioritize these issues to promote tourism effectively.”
Tourists and locals alike are appealing to the Kupwara Administration to ensure the provision of washroom facilities and address the road issue promptly. “Improving these basic facilities will not only enhance the tourist experience but also boost the local economy,” emphasized Neha, a frequent visitor to the area.
Both locals and tourists are urging the Kupwara Administration to establish essential facilities, particularly washrooms near the Satbaran Kalaroose Caves, to alleviate the current distress and improve the overall experience for visitors.
