Kupwara : Local women from various villages of Kupwara celebrated Raksha Bandhan with soldiers of the Kupwara Terriers at Patahirri Garrison on Thursday, tying rakhis to the jawans as a symbol of affection, trust and solidarity.
The celebration reflected the spirit of the festival, which signifies the bond of love and care between brothers and sisters. The women tied rakhis to soldiers who are away from their families, expressing their gratitude and extending their support to the security personnel serving in the region.
The soldiers reciprocated the gesture by presenting gifts to the women and expressing their appreciation for the heartfelt gesture. They also reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the people and supporting initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment in Kupwara.
