Kupwara:
In a determined bid to dismantle anti-national networks and strengthen public security, Kupwara Police has intensified its ongoing crackdown on Jammu and Kashmir Network of Overground Workers (JKNOPs), former terrorists, and their associates. The campaign also involves a comprehensive verification drive targeting SIM card vendors to ensure strict adherence to KYC norms and prevent the misuse of telecom services.
Special police teams carried out coordinated operations across Kralpora, Halmatpora, and adjoining areas, focusing on suspects and their communication links believed to aid subversive activities. Residences of ex-terrorists and OGWs were inspected, while naka points were established at strategic locations to monitor suspicious movements.
Officials said the drive forms part of Kupwara Police’s sustained efforts to reinforce peace and stability in the district. The department has urged citizens to extend full cooperation and share credible information to help maintain law and order.
