Hybrid Militant Arrested by Sopore Police

Sopore, 02 Sept. 2022:
Today on 02.09.2022 at about 21:15 hours, a joint naka was established by PC Sopore along with 22 RR, 179/BN CRPF at Shangergund crossing in the jurisdiction of police station Sopore. During checking, at about 2140 hours suspicious movement of a person coming from village Check Brath link road towards Sopore-Kupwara general road was noticed and was subsequently asked to stop, but he tried to flee from the spot, however was tactfully apprehended by the security forces. Upon his personal search 01 pistol, 01 magazine and 08 pistol rounds were recovered from his possession. During preliminary questioning, he revealed his identity as:

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested persons is working as hybrid terrorist of proscribed terrorist organization LeT and was in a constant search of an opportunity to carry out attacks on security forces and civilians. More recoveries are expected. Accordingly case has been registered under relevant sections of law at Police station Sopore and investigation taken up.
