Asymptomatic Covid- positive patients to be home quarantined:J&K govt


Srinagar,July 29: In a much awaited order, the Jammu and Kashmir govermment has finally ordered that asymptomatic covid-19 positive patients to be home quarantined. 

In an order, a copy of which lies with the Kupwara Times, the health and education department has ordered that the asymptotic patients can be home quarantined with the guidelines set by the department.
In an addressee to the  divisional Commissioners of Jammu/Kashmir, all Deputy Commissioners, Director health services Kashmir/Jammu, Director Soura/SKIMS, principals of medical colleges, the order further states that,”….The covid-19 positive patients who are asymptomatic with no comorbidity and are no Vulnerable otherwise… Such patients be allowed for home quarantine”.

The order has further guidelines as to how patient should be monitored and the condition of the house where the patient is isolated.
It is pertinent to mention that the Union Health Ministry has ordered home quarantine for the asymptomatic patients on July 2. However the UT Administration had not applied it till the new orders.
