KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 13 : Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, John Barla, who is here for 2 days tour to Kupwara district under union Government’s public outreach programme, today inaugurated water Supply Scheme at Halpal in Kupwara town which will provide potable drinking water to 5000 population. The scheme was completed at a cost of Rs.2.82 crore. The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Imam Din and other concerned officers were present at the occasion. On the occasion, the Minister met Youth Club of the local area. The Minister also visited Sub District Hospital, Kupwara. He also reviewed COVID mitigation efforts made by district administration. He was informed that Government has provided 3000 lpm capacity oxygen plant which has benefited the district to a large extent. Regarding COVID-19 mitigation efforts, the Minister was informed that recovery rate in the district by now is 98.60 percent, while as vaccination rate of above 45 age is 102 percent and from 18 to 44 year age is 56 percent. While interacting with the doctors, Mr. John complimented the Hospital administration for their best efforts in challenging time of COVID-19. The Minister asked Hospital administration to formally project demands for upgradation of Hospital status. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Imam Din also spoke on the occasion and projected the demands for development of Sub District Hospital Kupwara.
