Awami Ittihaad Party AIP has expressed its anguish over the FIR filed against the medical students on the charges of cheering the win of Pakistan Cricket team against India. In a statement issued today Awami Ittihaad Party spokesperson Firdous Baba said. “The loyalty can not be gaged by the parameters of celebrating the win of a particular team. There is no law either in any constitution in the world which may bar a citizen to support a sports team over than the team of his own country. Taking legal action against students under UAPA is ridiculous, unjustified and unacceptable.” Firdous Baba suggested that current government must use its machinary, and all means to persuade youth of the earnest while state, to minimise the already widened gap between New Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. The acts of booking people especially youth under the loss draconian laws had neither helped in past nor will help in the future but may add fuel to the fire. He further said that one hand Home Minister of India is offering the talks with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and other hand people are dealt with irony hands, which contradict their own policies and it seems that there is a confession in New Delhi regarding Jammu and Kashmir. Mr Firdous appealed LG administration to review the decision and save the future doctors of Jammu and Kashmir.
