DDC Kupwara chairs meeting of DJJM


KUPWARA,AUGUST 5: The District Jal Jeeven Mission (DJJM) Kupwara convened a meeting under the Chairmanship of DDC Kupwara Mr. Khalid Jahangir on 04-08-2022 at Mini Meeting Hall of District Administrative Complex Kupwara. Besides the chairman DJJM all the members, including the Member Secretary DJJM District Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Kupwara, Joint Director Planning were present in the meeting.
The Meeting was convened to authorize D.S.E/Executive Engineer PHE Division Kupwara/Handwara to issue the formal Allotments of total of 18 No. of works of various WSS of both the divisions after successful completion of tendering process. After considering the agenda of the meeting, 18 No. of works of cost Rs. 25.94 Crore rupees were authorized for allotments by the DJJM.
The Chairman DJJM insisted upon respective executive engineers that all the authorized works may be immediately allotted and the works may be started on the ground without any further delay, so that the approved Schemes are completed within the devised timeline to ensure 100% Functional House Hold Tap Connections (FHTC’s) to the entire rural population of the district.

 The District Development Commissioner also urged the District SE/Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti (PHE) department to ensure accord of AA/TS within one week in respect of all approved Schemes in pursuance of instructions given by Chief Secretary, J&K. 
   It may not be out of place to mention that the District Action Plan of district Kupwara under JJM for an amount of Rs. 589.52 Cr stands already approved by the DJJM.  The District Action Plan includes 106 No. of Water Supply Schemes. Out of 106 No. Water Supply Schemes, 50 No. Water Supply Schemes pertains to PHE Division Handwara, 41 No. Water Supply Schemes pertains to PHE Division Kupwara, 11 No. Water Supply Schemes pertains to SSD Tangdar and 4 No. Water Supply Schemes pertains to Ground Water Division Srinagar. The schemes have been envisaged to provide the 100% Functional House Hold Tap Connections (FHTC’s) to the entire rural population of the district.
