KUPWARA, OCTOBER 12: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of concerned officers and LPG Dealers to review the stock and supply position of essential commodities in border and snow bound areas of Kupwara district. The meeting was informed that 36286 quintal rice has been dumped in Karnah, Machill, Keran, Budnamal, Jumgund and Kumkadi under NFSA and JKFES and PMGKAY. This ration will cater the need of border people upto June 2022. Similarly, 1124 quintal Atta, 169 quintal sugar, 87000 litre K-Oil and 12600 LPG cylinders have been dumped in these areas. The meeting was further informed that 37540 quintal rice and 1650 wheat has also been dumped in 143 sale centres of the district for 4 months duration which experiences heavy snow during winter period. The meeting also informed that there is sufficient stock of ration and LPG in the plains of the district. The Deputy Commissioner while addressing the meeting stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure dumping of the remaining quota immediately to avoid any inconvenience. He also directed the concerned officers to check the rates of the LPG in Machill area and submit the detailed stock position area wise to his office with 2 days.
