KUPWARA, JANUARY 4: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of District Level Coordination Cum Implementation Committee (DLCIC) for Revival, Restoration and Preservation of Architecture and Heritages sites to review the preservation & development of approved heritage sites in the district. It was informed in the meeting that the Department of Archives, Archeology and Museums J&K has approved two heritage projects in Kupwara district under Revival, Restoration and Preservation of Architecture and Heritage sites scheme. The heritage projects approved include Ziyarat Sharief Darbari Younisia at Zurhama Kupwara and Ziyarat Sharief Mohd Amin Qureshi Owasi at Kupwara. It was also informed that the department has formulated Detailed Project Reports for upgradation and preservation of these two sites at a cost of Rs.39.70 lakh each. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers for close coordination in proper implementation of the projects. He directed them for joint visit of officers from Archaeology, Tourism and District administration to the approved heritage sites for its preservation and development. ADC Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat; JD Planning, XEN R&B, DS&EO, DIO, AD Planning and other concerned attended the meeting.
