KUPWARA, JULY 8: In order to ensure supply of essential commodities on government approved rates to the consumers and to avoid hoarding, black marketing and profiteering ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir along with officers from Food & Civil Supplies, Revenue, Municipality and Police today inspected various markets of Handwara town.
During the inspection, Rs.1500 fine was imposed on 4 erring shopkeepers for violation of Government rate list and selling expired food items.
During the market inspection, the shopkeepers were asked to strictly implement the Government approved rates.
