Kupwara:- The District Health Administration has been tirelessly working to uplift the Health care facilities in the entire district of Kupwara amid Covid-19 Pandemic. The detailed list of achievements/ arrangement for the better health care facilities for the people of this frontier district are mentioned below under different headings.
Activities during Covid-19 Pandemic in District Kupwara:
At the time of outburst of the pandemic, necessary gears like Masks, Sanitizers, PPE Kits, Pulse Oximeters, Laryngoscope, Air purifiers, Suction Machines, spray pumps, semi fowler beds etc were arranged at war footing basis to avoid any kind of eventuality. The procurement of the items has been done from Govt e market place(GEM) portal and authorised following proper codal formalities in vogue.`
The District Administration has established 18 Covid care centres in the entire district having capacity of 1150 within the district like SDH Kupwara, PHC Nutnussa, PHC Trehgam, ANMT School Kupwara, PHC Cheerkote, JNV Putshi, University Camps Whyne SDH Langate etc where necessary equipments and manpower has been already in place. All the required facilities health care/ dietery facilities were provided to the inmates as well as covid staff decided by the committee members framed for the said purpose.
Meanwhile extensive screening of population under Red Zones/Buffer zone under Covid-19 was carried out and around 61137 souls till date has been screened. In this regard about 28 RRT teams were deployed for the purpose throughout the district. It is in place to mention here that the district administration has designated OLD SDH building specifically for suspected/ positive pregnant ladies. During this pandemic about 09 LSCS of COVID positive patients were conducted since the establishment of the facility at SDH Kupwara.
Similarly total number of positive till date is 534, out of which 391 have been recovered and presently 139 are active and out of 139, 100 are admitted in various Covid Care centres in the district and rest 39 are admitted in DPL/BSF HQ and outside district.
It is pertinent to mention here that some news agencies/ whatsapp groups are spreading baseless news regarding ‘’Misappropriation of funds in CMO office’. The reports published are baseless and fabricated in nature. The report quoting anonymous sources is based on false information and the concerned news agency has not bothered to take the official version into account and the allegation labeled are not only false but a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of this department and its employees who have rendered priceless services during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moreover, this office has not received any grant for the fencing of SDH Kupwara during current financial year which the report mentions as a scandal is false and baseless. The news reports published in various local dailies without any authencity from the concerned authority are creating unnecessary hurdles in the smooth functioning of the health care facilities. The reports were based on assumptions without taking into the account veracity of facts from the concerned department; the concerned news agency/whatsapp news groups are circulating fake/fictitious news reports regarding district health administration which inturn resorting rumour mongering and sensationalism. Such irresponsible act/exaggeration of news/scandal mongering regarding has created an impression of maladministration and corruption in the office of CMO Kupwara which in turn has demoralized the staff.
