DDC Chairs Meet for Mainstreaming Aspirational District through Skill Development under SANKALP
Kupwara, Nov 30: The District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of officers of various departments for mainstreaming Aspirational District through Skill Development Programme under Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) Project for finalizing of Skill Development Plan.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, JD Planning, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, AD Fisheries, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, officers and representatives of RSETI Kupwara, KVIB, JKEDI, Industries, ITI and other concerned.
The meeting discussed threadbare various issues related to mainstreaming Aspirational District through skill development programme under SANKALP Project during which the participants shared their views.
The DDC on the occasion directed the officers to conduct awareness programmes so that the people are aware about the welfare and development schemes run by various departments. He also stressed for organising training camps under skill development programme across the district. The DDC said that the need of the hour is to inspire educated unemployed youth towards self employment schemes to make the district economically strong.
For this purpose, he urged the officers of Line departments to put all the efforts.
Pertinent to mention, the objective of the project is to enhance institutional mechanisms for skills development and increase access to quality and market-relevant training for the work force. It is aimed at institutional reforms and improving quality & market relevance of skill development training programs in long and and short term Vocational Education and Training (VET). It is also aimed at channelizing energy of youth in proper education, skill and jobs. It will provide market relevant training to youths and enhance their employability potential to maximum extent possible.
